ADHD Yorkshire is a long established Support Group, who for the last few years we have been working in close partnership with ADDept Yorkshire Learning & Ability Support Group.

You will find up to date information pertaining to ADHD and numerous Hidden Impairments such as Autism, Asperger, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Tourettes, Semantic Pragmatic, to name but a few.

Our team are 100% dedicated to our members, We have all lived With Hidden Impairments and parented children who like us 'Learn & Behave Differently'.

 

What We Do:

Run a 24 hour Advice and Support Phone Service

Act together Raising Awareness of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

bullet

Campaign for Specialist Services and Support for adults and children.

Provide Training to Local and National Government Departments.

Advocate for those with ADHD

 

 

To remain completely independent advocates:

We are 100% voluntary,

bullet

operate on a shoestring budget,

bullet

do not accept funding from such as pharmaceutical supplement companies, councils, CT’s or any sources that could be viewed as conflict of interest.

 

Our staff have a wide knowledge and understanding of the difficulties people living with Hidden Impairments face on a daily basis and have a high success rate in helping others come to terms with their differences so enabling them to live up to their full potential.

 

 

Meetings

 

We hold regular meetings in Kirkby Malzeard Ripon, where we collect information and discuss issues of common concern.

We meet with various Voluntary Sector Organisations to discuss the developments which have been put in place to support people with ADHD in the Yorkshire area i.e.

Living with undiagnosed ADHD often causes severe emotional harm, more than 15% of the population are affected.

A recent study revealed that 75% of UK prison inmates have Hidden Disabilities. Slowly but surely the Government are beginning to recognise this fact, but for now the majority are still not being treated due to the lack of resources.

 

 

 

ADHD Yorkshire work in partnership with numerous organisations who we are in regular contact with to ensure that our records are kept up to date.
