Bullying
Hi,
All the staff at
ADDept have lived with varying Impairments and parented some fabulous albeit
exhausting children who have caused us much heartbreak but also given us a huge
amount of happiness.
Whatever it is you are going through please know that there is a light at the
end of the tunnel, it's just difficult to see sometimes.

Due to
their Hidden Impairments, be it being bullied, made to feel inadequate or
underachieving in their studies and you feel as if their school is not
meeting their needs by either not recognizing or refusing to accept their diagnosis,
hence not putting in place the resources needed in order for your child to
access the full curriculum; please visit
the
Education page.
I have added some links to some sites whom I
found extremely valuable whilst my son was being repeatedly excluded for his
behaviour, absconding and finally resorting to violence due to feeling like he
was "Drowning
in a sea of frustration," which I felt was due largely to the
negligence of the education system.
Take
comfort in the knowledge that you are not alone, don't be hard on yourselves
these children of ours may learn and behave differently,
but we know as parents that they have fantastic personalities which would shine
through at school if only they were accepted for being themselves and given the
necessary with which to reach their full potential.
We at
ADDept
understand how EXHAUSTING are
little
's
can be
LIFE IS TO SHORT
Why not be guided by others who have been there!

♥Hold it too close to your eye and it fills
the whole world and puts everything out of focus.
♥Hold it at a proper distance and it can be
examined and properly classified.
♥Throw it at your feet and it can be seen in its true setting,
just one tinier bump on the pathway of life.
♥The
next time a problem arises, use your imagination to cast it to
the ground as quickly as you can.
♥Then
you need only step lightly over it and get on with the
business of enjoying life.
♥May you always remember that problems, no
matter how big they might seem,
are really no larger than your perspective insists they be.
♥Be the light...give out of love
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

I see
medication as being given a tool,
But when you’re
not shown how to use it,
I feel you’ve
been medicated for the sake of others,
Keep behaviour
at bay, to
stabilise mothers.
'Medications a
tool' that when given,
May treat the
core symptoms sometimes,
Help us to Focus,
to stay on task,
Give us that
minute to think,
Help us to cope
with what life throws our way,
Help us to keep
off the drink.
Medication
alone is a single
part,
On the road to
recovery I feel,
Medical and Non
Medical Input,
Has got to be the
real deal.
Ritalin, Concerta,
Strattera, or
Dex,
There are
numerous meds they can use,
But without Non
Medical Input,
I feel they are
being misused.
The Timing and
the Dosage, Have got to be
right,
When achieving
desired effects,
Agreed they are
given to keep behaviour
at bay,
Not curing the
Adder in any way,
But in my
experience, an invaluable tool,
Which should be
accepted by parents and School.
A Consultant
is like a calculator,
If not given the
correct sum to add,
Won't be able to
give the best answer,
To the problems
you tell them you have.
Often I found
meds were not reassessed,
This really did
add to my levels of stress,
Not
wanting to eat, Sleepless Nights,
Was a major
factor in unnecessary plights
Impulsive, Hyperactive, Distracted,
These things were
helped by my meds,
But they don't
cure the problems, just Symptoms,
And they helped
to level off my head,
This tool does
help when it’s given,
And when problems
arise with your child,
Along with some
Coaching
and needed
support,
Will help him to
think - not act wild.

I told them he smashes
furniture, Sets fires when he’s annoyed,
Does a runner up the village, our home was being destroyed.
One day that I remember, comes
flooding back to me,
A visit from social services,
in answer to my plea.
On arrival she entered, and
told me to ignore,
The swearing, smashing and furniture, exploded all over the floor.
She shooed me to the kitchen,
then offered her advice,
He’s only seeking attention,
watch him calm, when I am nice.
As the second chair came
through the door,
I wondered, how long, she’d take it for,
Her plan hadn’t worked; I hoped she would see,
That this defiant behaviour wasn’t all because of me.
It isn’t because I scream at
him, or beat him black and blue,
Although I’m sometimes tempted, to deny it would be untrue.
An hour passed, which soon was
two, and still my boy was mad,
The house, unrecognizable, the women she’d been had.
“How do you cope?” She
said to me, “what’s your backup plan?
Who is here to support you? You need a blooming gang.
NOW THAT’S ENOUGH!!!” She said
to him,
“Get Lost,” Was his reply, Accompanied by an Army truck,
This hit her in the eye.
She looked at me as if to
say, Well, help, do something fast,
But who was I to get involved, I turned my back, and laughed.
But on a serious note my
friends, this was never written in pen,
And when I brought it up at Conference, she’d forgotten it by then.
She’d conveniently forgotten,
she had nothing more to say,
Miss Mowbray just imagined it - you know she thinks that way.

I tried to get the help,
Make them see sense,
All they wanted was money,
Their nose in the trough.
All my thoughts are,
Stand together as one,
It’s the last stand,
I’ve been stabbed
They’re getting your money
Next your soles
What’s next I ask?
Stand together
After 17 years in the hidden disability support system. Five years as
chairman & founder of East Anglia Support Groups. During the last 12
years as National Coordinator for ADDept we've had untold success in
government and other parts of the world.
The lack of support by other
organizations has been appalling. My personal belief is they like people
in difficulty, so they can claim for more tax payer’s money, plus pay
themselves mind blowing wages and expense accounts.
The more disadvantaged people the more they can claim for. The mistake
these professionals made was that they didn’t take into consideration
ADDept don't take payment from those sources. Albeit I’ve left ADDept,
Bob, Maggie and Kate are still fighting for services for disadvantaged
people being used by the voluntary charity and private sectors for profit
and abuse.
To my own kind as I’ve said constantly, they do what they do.
Stand
together as one.
There are more of us than there are of them.
I will
continue in my own way for myself and give advice as always free of
charge.
You are my family and I love you all.

I was once a lonely girl,
Nothing seemed to last,
No friends, no love,
and stand outside the crowd.
I now understand,
I am a little different,
Now I'm adhd,
And feeling proud,
I've found my feet,
and now, stand proud.
A Hug a cuddle,
Would of been nice,
Instead of being in Hell.
If you
know me understand,
I'm at peace at last,
and no kind words.

Scared and
bleeding
But full
of spunk and pride
Tied down
to long in rules
No cage surrounds him
No constriction to abide
No charity commission regulations
Mane up proud, he is free
To those who set him free
Thank you for your lies
The prowling of the kill begins
I wonder what's for tea?.
